Minecraft Forge Modloader for 1.21, 1.20.6, 1.20.5, 1.20.4, 1.20.2, 1.20.1, 1.20, 1.19.4, 1.19.3, 1.19.2, 1.19.1, 1.19, 1.18.2, 1.18.1 through 1.17.1/1.16.5 is a modding API (Application Programming Interface) that makes it easier to develop modifications while also ensuring that mods are compatible with one another.

It serves as the foundation for the vast majority of Minecraft modifications currently available. Minecraft can be customized by developers based on it. Minecraft's possibilities are endless with Minecraft Forge. To do this, the Forge crew has constantly updated versions to make modifications compatible with Minecraft updates.
Installing Forge Mod Loader
- Make sure you have the latest version of Java installed on your computer. You can download the latest version of Java from the official website (https://www.java.com/en/download/).
- Open the Forge installer JAR file that you downloaded in the previous step. You may need to right-click the file select "Open With" and choose Java to open it.
- The Forge Installer window will open. Click on the "Install Client" button to install Forge Mod Loader for the client (single-player) version of Minecraft. If you want to install Forge Mod Loader for the server version, click on the "Install Server" button instead.
- The installer will download and install all the necessary files for Forge Mod Loader. This may take a few minutes.
- When the installation is complete, click on the "Done" button to close the installer.
Launching Minecraft with Forge Mod Loader
- Open the Minecraft Launcher and select the "Launch Options" tab.
- Click on the "Add New" button and select the version of Minecraft that you want to use with Forge Mod Loader.
- In the "Profile Name" field, enter a name for this profile (e.g. "Forge").
- In the "Game Directory" field, select the location where you want to install Forge Mod Loader. This is typically the "minecraft" folder in your user directory (e.g. C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\minecraft).
- Click on the "Save" button to save this profile.
- Select the "Forge" profile that you just created from the "Launch Options" tab and click on the "Play" button to launch Minecraft with Forge Mod Loader.
Installing Forge Mods
- Navigate to the "Mods" tab in the Minecraft Launcher.
- Click on the "Open Folder" button to open the "minecraft/mods" folder.
- Download the Forge mod that you want to install from a trusted website or source.
- Copy the downloaded mod JAR file into the "minecraft/mods" folder.
- Click on the "Reload" button in the "Mods" tab to load the mod into Minecraft.
- The mod should now be installed and ready to use in the game.
